Welcome back to my One Room Challenge update! For those who are new here, I am participating in the One Room Challenge where I am updating our foyer along with my hubby. Week two's focus is on making progress on the cabinet and seating bench. As we continued to build and craft our dream foyer, we encountered challenges and creative differences, but by compromising and teamwork, we were able to push through. Let's dive in!

Week two of the One Room Challenge was all about continuing to build the bench, building out the cabinet, and adding trim pieces while finishing the first part of the crown molding. Having a specific plan in place helped us to stay on track and motivated despite the challenges ahead.

One of the biggest challenges we faced this week involved incorporating our different approaches and ideas into the cabinet's assembly. The details such as building the top for the cabinet became a bone of contention between hubby and myself. We compromised and built half a box, which was perfect and served the purpose we intended.

Our main goal was to complete the work within the time we had allocated, and we did just that. We were very efficient despite the minor setbacks {a few miscuts, our circular saw decided it was time to go to the tool graveyard and we went to Lowes without our measurements}. I mean, it could have been much worse!

Saturday, my head was really not into the project, my head was all over the place, I couldn't make any decisions and I was annoyed by everything. This is where hubby was amazing! He stepped right in and took over when I asked {with a smile on his face}, especially when I realized I shouldn't be operating any power tools. I must admit that if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have accomplished what we intended in week two.

I ordered the wallpaper mural and it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow, Monday. I have plans to order the chandelier, pendant light, and rug next. We're excited to see how everything is coming together and we love sharing our bits of progress with you.

Week two of the One Room Challenge was all about building and compromising. We encountered some challenges and differences in opinion, but we worked together and overcame those challenges. Building our functional and beautiful foyer is going to take time, focus, effort, and a lot of detailed finish work {not our favorite thing} but I am happy we're on the right path and on schedule. I can't to see how everything will come together as we head into week three! Stay tuned for the next update!
